Dr. Jacob joined DSU in 1946 and spent 38 years as a vital part of the institution. After his retirement from DSU as Dean of the School of Graduate Studies in 1974, Dr. Jacob remained active in community affairs. He died July 25, 1990.
Mac McRaney
Dr. Mac G. McRaney was hired in 1959 as the Dean of Student Personnel and Director of Admissions. In 1972 he became Dean of Admissions and Records and served in that position until he retired in 1984. Dr. McRaney passed away on September 30, 1996.

Scholarship Award
The amount of the scholarship to be awarded to an incoming freshman will be $2,500 a semester for up to 8 semesters
The amount of the scholarship to be awarded to a rising sophomore will be $2,500 a semester for up to 6 semesters
The amount of the scholarship to be awarded to a rising junior will be $2,500 a semester for up to 4 semesters
The amount of the scholarship to be awarded to a rising senior will be $2,500 a semester for up to 2 semesters
New school awards may be adjusted by the Board.
Maintenance of Award
Maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher for each semester prior to formal admittance into the Teacher Education program with no failures
Maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher after formal admission into the Teacher Education program during each semester remaining in the recipients period of award with no failures
Remain a student at DSU in the Teacher Education program
Forward grades at the end of each semester
Request funding, if eligible, for next semester
Carry a minimum of 12 hours each semester
Each year the scholarship is given in honor of a person to be named by the board.
